So what’s this campaign all about, anyway? At this point in life, each of you have no doubt seen countless candidates come and go, in many different arenas, and have probably noticed the typical patterns of campaigns including well thought-out plans, themes….and empty promises. We, ourselves, have seen that pattern over and over in the political realm, and are constantly discouraged by the shallow, empty goals and promises that are carelessly made when candidates seek to have others follow their own schemes. We’ve come to realize that God’s Way is the only way, and it’s the way that we want to walk in and urge others to follow. As we run this race toward the TeenPact presidency, we realize that it’s just another aspect for us in the race that God has called each of His children to participate in – the one toward His Kingdom. Like it says in 1st Corinthians, our desire is that no matter what we’re doing – whether eating, or drinking, or campaigning – that we do it all for the glory of God. The Christian walk that we’ve all been called to isn’t an easy one. We’re going to stumble every now and then, and hard times are guaranteed, but there is still reason to press on. Isaiah 40:30-31 talks about this very thing: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. When our hope is placed in the Lord, He will provide us with the strength to continue walking in His ways, no matter the circumstances that we find ourselves in. This verse encompasses our vision for this campaign – to rely solely on the Lord to strengthen us to run and not grow weary, to walk and not be faint. Our desire for becoming your President and Vice President is to allow the Lord to work through us as servant leaders, while we all walk together to make an impact for His Kingdom, and further the ministry of TeenPact. Our goal is to stand as a united body of TeenPacters, and ultimately followers of Christ. We’re humbled at the opportunity to lead others, and are blessed when God works through us in that way. We feel it’s important to begin stepping up now as young people and learning to lead by being quick to follow Christ, and drawing others together to do the same. We don’t want to do this ourselves, though, we want to lead by serving and encouraging each of you to join us in leading by example in your communities, as well. This is one of the underlying goals of TeenPact as a whole, and by drawing other young people to be a part of it we are furthering the purpose of God’s Kingdom. This is what we will seek to do as your leaders in TeenPact, and along with your help, continue to make an impact in the lives of those around us, as each of our lives have been impacted by TeenPact already. When it all comes down to it, life is about the journey that God has set before us; the calling that He has placed on our lives; the path He has asked us to walk. So as we lead, we know that it’s really all about choosing to walk the right way; His way. And as your President and Vice President, that’s what we’ll do. We hope you’ll walk with us! It would be a true privilege to have your support during this race, because we know we can’t do it alone. It takes all of us working, and walking, together for the purpose to be accomplished. We’d love to have you join us in the Christian Amnesty party to work toward that goal! If you don’t plan on coming to National Convention, but would like to support our campaign and still have your vote counted, then we urge you to take advantage of the absentee voting! It will only be open for a 2-day window [May 25th – 27th] for primaries and a 24-hour period [May 28th] for the general elections, so be sure to catch it at the proper time. Every vote is key to winning both the primary and general elections! Go here for all the information regarding absentee voting. |
